As we draw near to the God who is becoming our Lord He invites us to explore who He has sovereignly crafted us to uniquely be for His purposes of love and redemption. This exploration is not an external exercise, but an internal one. As we discover, it is crucial to see our life as a comprehensive whole; to read our life as a well-written story with a definite plot the Author intended. Your life is not an incomprehensible mystery- the clues are there to discover, trust and act upon! This exciting exploration was never meant to be pursued in isolation. Our unique sense of calling and purpose is not meant for our self-fulfillment, but for others with whom we are in intimate community. We are affirmed in finding the part of His Body we were made to be for the health and well-being of the whole.
Every person has a longing to be special and know they are able to make lasting, valuable contributions. Each of us tries to find our niche that distinguishes us from the masses. Left to ourselves, our attempts will fall short and be dissatisfying, but under His Lordship, as the treasure of our hearts, in known community with others who love Him, we can discover who God made us to be and experience the soul-satisfying joy of living it out for purposes far beyond ourselves!
